Spring is a good time to toss out stuff we don’t use anymore and do a little cleaning around the house. If that’s the case for you, we’re going to make it easy to get rid of the clothes and household goods you don’t need or want. A couple of years ago, we had people donate to the Interfaith Cooperative Ministries as part of the SECC campaign.
If you weren’t here or don’t remember, ICM is a great charity run by volunteers that helps families and people who are in need. The facility which is located in South Phoenix provides an immediate response to basic human needs including clothing, toiletries and financial assistance. ICM serves 60,000 clients each year, including families with children. All of their donations go directly to people that need them and for free.
For the next four weeks, you can bring your used things to the boxes in ADHS buildings and ICM will pick them up every Friday. Each building will have a collection point – usually in the lobby. The list of things needed is pretty long, but you can start with whatever you don’t need anymore – shirts, pants, shorts, socks, small appliances, blankets, sheets, towels, washcloths.. The full list is on ICM’s website. Happy cleaning and contributing!
Nice thought. Waste cloths are used to some people. Day-by-Day trends are changing so all of them avoiding old clothes.
