Early in my career, I learned the importance of have a few random minutes with someone that I had little access to… someone you bump into in an elevator, sidewalk, or whatever.  Someone that can help you with your mission.  It could be someone in a key position from a Stakeholder group, your boss’s boss’s boss, or maybe even an elected official. When you have those opportunities, you need to seize the moment.  When you only have 30 seconds to a minute to get your point across you need to be concise and to the point, meaning you need to be ready with a very short ”elevator pitch” for your key topics.
