Like many people, you may be making your health a priority in the new year. Did you know that being physically active can help you increase your chances to live longer, feel better about yourself, decrease your chances of becoming depressed, sleep well at night, and stay at or get to a healthy weight?

Adding activity into your day is a great idea. Adults should aim for at least two and a half hours or 150 minutes of moderate physical activity each week. Every little bit adds up, and doing something is better than doing nothing. Most importantly you should have fun while being active. Be sure to strength train for healthy muscles and bones. Do strengthening activities at least twice a week. Activities that build strength include lifting weights, doing push-ups and sit-ups, working with resistance bands, or heavy gardening.
