Congratulations to Dallas Teat from IT and our vector control team (including Elisabeth Lawaczeck who moved to Colorado) on the 2010 Arizona Public Health Association’s HEMMY (Health Education Media Makers Yearly) Award for Bats at Schools: Prevention of Rabies. The video won in the Grassroots category and focuses on educating children and school staff about the danger of rabid bats.
More congratulations go to Toni Means and Veronica Vaughn for taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the professional category. Toni’s work on the Live It, Change It campaign took top honors, while Veronica’s efforts for Go Low, 1% Milk and 2010 Grow a Healthy Child rounded out the rest of the top 3.
HEMMY 2010 Awards were given for health education or patient education material produced in Arizona by Arizona residents during August 2008 and August 2009.
