June was a milestone for the future of medicine in Arizona. Maricopa Integrated Health Services (MIHS), the District Medical Group (DMG) and the University of Arizona School of Medicine Phoenix Campus joined forces to enhance medical education in AZ. MIHS will be the primary training and teaching hospital for the students at UA Phoenix medical campus.
Many doctors end up living in or near the community where they do their residency, which could greatly increase the number of physicians in Arizona. DMG will help physicians train in family practice, a very important cog in the wheel of public health! By the way- this is the 5th year that the College of Medicine has been open in Phoenix – the first class of med students graduated in May.
This is really great article. I think we must add the Pharmacy education in all of this so that we can improve the education and campaign of medical education and that you are stating. Keep good work up..
