While the beautiful Arizona weather and landscape provides us with opportunities for outdoor fun year round, we sometimes overlook the importance of exercising sun safe practices. 

To help raise awareness of the importance of sun safety, our SunWise Program is launching the 14th Annual Poster Contest for children from pre-K through 12th grade. Participants are encouraged to illustrate how they will “Be SunWise & Play Smart.”

This year’s winning poster will go on to become the official SunWise Program poster for 2016-2017. We are once again partnering with the Arizona Diamondbacks for the poster contest, who will award the winning artist and his or her teacher tickets to the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Colorado Rockies game on May 1st, recognize them on the field, and will also feature them on the stadium jumbotron.

Remember to always protect yourself in the sun with SPF 15+ sunscreen and lip balm, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and clothing; and to stay in the shade, while keeping in mind ways to limit the sun but not the fun.
