Our primary mission is to improve the health and wellness of Arizonans, which includes our employees. We offer breastfeeding support, an infant at work program, weekly wellness events, on-site health screenings, and more. Offering services centered on the health and wellness of employees can help decrease stress and improve overall productivity, and best of all keep our team healthy.

No matter the size of your organization, incorporating a health and wellness plan into your company fosters a healthy and proactive environment. According to the CDC, workplace health programs include policies intended to facilitate employee health, including allowing time for exercise, providing on-site kitchens, and eating area so employees can bring healthy meals from home. In the new year, employers can make a resolution to make the workplace healthier by:

  • Offering nutritious food options in vending machines and cafeterias
  • Allowing employees to utilize their breaks as time for exercise
  • Offering incentives for participation can increase productivity and involvement
  • Putting a spin on the traditional meeting with a “walk and talk” meeting as you walk around the building or even outside

If you need more ideas on how to develop a healthier workplace,  The Healthy Arizona Worksites Program is a statewide program that provides Arizona employers with training, technical assistance, tools, and resources to design, implement, and evaluate worksite wellness initiatives. The program recently developed an online tool to help you develop a Worksite Health Improvement Plan.

We have received a Gold Level Awards from The Healthy Arizona Worksites Program for the services we offer our team. The Healthy Arizona Worksite Awards recognize employers that are making evidence-based efforts to support the health and well-being of their employees and their families. Gold level programs demonstrate institutional support and have integrated worksite health programs with business policies and benefits. I encourage all employers in the state to do their part to improve the health of their staff.
