The Arizona Center for Rural Health in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the U of A was recently recognized as an Outstanding Rural Health Organization for 2013 by The National Rural Health Association. The Center partners with Arizona’s rural communities to improve access to healthcare, reduce the costs of care, and to enhance the quality and safety of care.
As an example of the type of work done by the Center, they work in partnership with our Bureau of Health System Development and the Arizona Alliance for Community Health Centers to assist in the recruitment and retention of primary care providers in the rural and frontier underserved areas of Arizona. Congratulations to the Arizona Center for Rural Health for this award and their continuing efforts to improve healthcare in Arizona.
